Service changes and updates at IRD

At the end of October, IRD are making system changes in order to continue to make tax more straightforward. This includes changes to myIR, child support and child support legislation.

As with past releases, they are changing their systems over a public holiday. This is so there are less business days that they need to be closed. They close at 3pm on Thursday 21 October and reopen on the morning of Thursday 28 October.

During this time, myIR and Gateway services will be unavailable and the phone lines and offices will be closed. Customers using software to file will also be affected.

They will still be working on necessary tax entitlements and payment obligations

More time to file and pay GST and provisional tax

Due to a temporary shutdown of Inland Revenue’s systems in late October, the deadline to pay and file GST and provisional tax will be extended from 28th October to the 4th November, subject to an Order in Council being passed
