There have been a few changes and updates in the last few weeks that will affect some of our Clients – here are a few of them.
The cost of living payment
The Cost of Living Payment is a payment to help with the rising costs of inflation. It is for people who meet the eligibility criteria.
Some of our Clients have called us to say they did not receive the first cost of living payment which was due on the 1st August.
The answer is:
If your 2022 IR3 is not filed then IRD won’t make the payment until the return is filed…so you won’t miss out on the payment, it will just be delayed.
Please call us if you are concerned about the cost of living payment or about the filing of your IR3.

Trade deal makes exporting easier
The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between New Zealand and the United Kingdom (UK) early in 2022 makes it easier and cheaper for Kiwi businesses to export to the UK.
The FTA market access package is one of the best New Zealand has secured in any trade deal. Overall, this means 99.5% of current New Zealand goods can now enter the UK tariff-free.
The new trade deal also provides opportunities for businesses large and small to grow, invest and diversify.

Hiring older people
Older workers in your team bring experience, perspective, and knowledge to the table, that is why it pays to have an age diverse workplace.
With no compulsory retirement age, more and more people are working in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond.
Challenge yourself to examine your stereotypes, and to “see the person – not their age” by clicking on the below link.
