NEWS and UPDATES
7-day processing for banks
From 26 May 2023, banks will process transactions 365 days of the year including weekends and public holidays.
IRD won’t be changing their payment processing:
Due dates for payments will still move to the following business day if they fall on a weekend or public holiday.
Payments to Inland Revenue will show with the effective date of the bank transfer. This date may be a weekend or public holiday if your bank processed the payment over that time.

The Mum ’n Dad bank
In the past responsible parents would consider their job done when their children were fully educated for the work they had chosen.
Increasingly parents and grandparents today are having to help their children buy a first home – they are referred to as the Bank of Mum and Dad.

Kings birthday
King’s Birthday is on Monday 5th June 2023 – it is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in June, making for a much-looked-forward-to June long weekend. Most businesses will be closed.
For those expecting a pay-out from IRD – if your official pay day is a Tuesday, you’ll be paid early. Your payment for Tuesday 6 June 2023 will be available from Saturday 3 June 2023.
